Global Crane Services Takes Delivery of Liebherr’s 1,000th LTM 1090-4.2

Last month, Global Crane Services took delivery of a new Liebherr 90-tonne crane, marking the fifth of its kind to join our extensive crane fleet. The arrival of the LTM 1090-4.2 also represented a significant milestone for Liebherr, as it became the 1,000th unit of this model to be delivered since its unveiling in 2017 at CONEXPO, Las Vegas.

Before making its way to our Glasgow depot, Frank McAlonan, our Technical and Operations Director, and Charlie Lowe, our Head of Operations, accepted the new LTM 1090-4.2 on behalf of Global Crane Services at the Liebherr production plant in Ehingen.

Frank commented: “We already have four cranes of this type and we’re very happy with them. The LTM 1090-4.2 is a very versatile and powerful crane, and for us it covers a wide range of applications, from timber construction and finished parts assembly to port handling, for instance, the loading of wind turbine blades. We also use it in the oil and gas industry, as well as an auxiliary crane for our larger cranes.”
