Global Crane Services works strictly in accordance to BS7121 (Safe Use of Cranes) and to the terms and conditions of the Construction Plant Hire Association (CPA). Under CPA crane hire terms and conditions for hiring of plant, the customer has the responsibility of planning a safe lifting operation while Global Crane Services has a duty of care to ensure the safety and welfare of our people.
The Crane Hirer’s Options Explained
Under the terms of a Standard CPA Crane Hire Contract, the safe operation of the crane and the safety and welfare of its operator are the customer's responsibility. It is up to the client to supply the appointed person who has the knowledge, experience and understanding of all aspects of the lifting operation and who will be responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of the lift.
- Carry out all work in accordance with BS7121
- Provide third party liability & hired in plant insurance
- Plan the lift & operate a safe system of work
- Check the credentials of the crane hire company personnel & certifications supplied
- Provide a crane that is properly maintained, tested & certificated
- Provide a competent Crane Operator
