2025 – A Year in Review: Global Crane Service's Highlights from the Past Twelve Months

As 2025 draws to a close, we would like to thank our hardworking team, valued clients, and trusted suppliers for their continued support throughout another successful year for Global Crane Services. It has been a year in which we have taken a step forward with a stronger identity, while continuing to lower risk and raise standards across every project. Some of our key highlights from the year can be found below.

In response to growing demand across the Renewables, Oil & Gas, Construction, Rail, and Utilities sectors, we strengthened our fleet with the addition of 8 new cranes, ranging in capacity from 50te - 650te, the LTM 1650-8.1 has joined the fleet this month, making it our fourth model of this type. A standout addition was the delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2, the fifth of its kind to join our extensive fleet. The arrival of this crane also marked a milestone for Liebherr Mobile and Crawler Cranes, as it became the 1,000th unit of this model to be delivered since its debut at CONEXPO in Las Vegas in 2017.

The renewable sector continues to keep us particularly busy. This year, we have supported Vestas, Enercon, Siemens to name a few on numerous installation and maintenance projects, utilising cranes ranging from the LTM 1090 up to the LG 1750. We have also assisted our sister company, Global Wind Projects, at various onshore wind farms across the UK and Ireland, including Enoch Hill, Corlacky, Farranrory, and Douglas West Extension.

Other notable projects from this year include our collaboration with John Lawrie Metals to dismantle the Weatherford dry rig safely and efficiently at Bridge of Don, using our LTM 1500-8.1 and LTM 1150-5.3 cranes for precision lifts and heavy decommissioning work. We also collaborated with Advanced Logistics to provide a full turnkey solution for transporting the Airbus H175, involving CPA contract lift services, transport, and complete logistical coordination, to the Offshore Helicopter Services UK Ltd stand at Offshore Floating Wind in Aberdeen.

Alongside Global Wind Projects, we attended Bauma 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery. The event provided a great opportunity to connect with trusted suppliers and engage with clientele. We were also delighted to support the Grampian Truck Show in Aberdeen, one of the largest events of its kind in Europe, showcasing two of our Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 cranes, alongside our DAF truck and GPSS Projects Scania.

Gordon Harper, General Manager of Global Crane Services, added: “I would like to thank our dedicated office staff, crane and transport operatives, fitters, and contract lift labour for their ongoing commitment. Special thanks also go to our clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and broader partners for their continued support throughout the year. We are very proud of our ongoing growth and investment in new cranes, and with further investment already planned, we look forward to 2026 and what the year will bring.”
