Crane Supervisor
Job Title: Crane Supervisor
Reports To: Contract Lift Manager
Location: Aberdeen
Job Summary:
Due to expansion and being awarded multiple contracts, we are seeking an experience and safety-driven Crane Lift Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising lifting operations with a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.
You will play a key part in ensuring all lifting activities are planned and carried out in accordance with approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments and relevant legislation and standards, while providing clear leadership to lift teams on site.
Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise all crane and lifting operations in accordance with approved lift plans and Method Statements
- Interpret Risk Assessments, Method Statements, lift plans and associated drawings
- Ensure lifting operations comply and adhere to standards with BS7121 Parts 1 and 3
- Provide clear instructions and ongoing direction to crane operators, slingers/signallers and lifting teams
- Assess lifting operations in real time and stop work where unsafe conditions or practices are identified escalating concerns to the Appointed Person as required
- Verify the suitability, certification and condition of cranes and lifting equipment prior to use
- Liaise effectively with site management, engineers, contractors and the Appointed Person
- Report incidents, near misses, and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency without compromising safety
Essential Requirements:
- Valid CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor (Blue Card Preferred)
- Previous experience working as a Crane/Lift Supervisor on complex and routing lifting operations
- Strong working knowledge of BS7121 Parts 1 & 3 and lifting-related legislation
- Ability to interpret lift plans, technical drawings, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Excellent verbal communication
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to challenge unsafe practices at all levels, including senior staff
- Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and compliance
